What you'll be doing
The scheme will be very challenging, offering a unique opportunity to develop a range of key skills such as innovation, project management, health and safety and core leadership throughout the duration of your placement, all with the support of a senior mentor.
About the scheme
We are looking to take on six graduates for the following positions:

Southampton
Undertake various placements across our Southampton operations, which could include Stevedores, Cruise, Marine and Commercial Teams. Along with this you will be required to move to one of our other locations in the group to gain knowledge of our wider ABP business.

Humber
Undertake various placements in the Humber Operations which could include Container Terminals, Bulk, Retail, IRFT, along with a placement in our Commercial or Business Excellence Teams. Along with this you will be required to move to one of our other locations in the group to gain knowledge of our wider ABP business.

W&SSP
Undertake various placements across our Wales and Short Sea Ports operations, which could include Stevedores, (working with Steel and Timber as the main Cargos), Marine and Commercial Teams. Along with this you will be required to move to one of our other locations in the group to gain knowledge of our wider ABP business.

Cardiff
Placements to include Digital Security, IT Projects, Data Architecture. You will also spend time outside of Cardiff in one of our other ABP Ports to gain an understanding of the IT Business Partnering role.

Ipswich
Placements will include work on Major infrastructure projects, along with Asset Management and Engineering. You will also spend time outside of Ipswich in one of our Commercial teams in the Humber or Southampton to work on commercial projects within the teams.

Humber
Undertake placements in our Central Procurement team which you will cover Infrastructure procurement, Renewables, Port Specific Equipment, such as Cranes, Fork Lifts etc, along with procurement of IT, Service Contracts such as Third-Party labour.
Please note; all graduates on the programme will attend a number of internal training days for leadership development and spend one of their placements in our Strategy team.

We're looking for graduates in the following locations:

Our largest region, offering a wide variety of opportunities.

Including 5 ports in Wales and 11 Short Sea Ports across the UK.

We also have offices in Ipswich and London.

About you

About ABP
The port industry in the UK is the second largest in Europe and Associated British Ports (ABP) is the largest port operator in the country, with 21 ports around Britain. ABP's ports include Immingham, the UK's largest port by tonnage, and Southampton, the nation's second largest container port, as well as the UK's number one for cars and cruise ships. Every year, ABP handles around 25% of all UK seaborne trade – more than 85 million tonnes of cargo. Collectively the ports handle around 1.4 million containers, 1.7 million vehicles and around 3 million cruise and ferry passengers each year. We also own and run Britain's busiest inland rail terminal, Hams Hall.
