What you'll be doing
The scheme will be very challenging, offering a unique opportunity to develop a range of key skills such as innovation, project management, health and safety and core leadership throughout the duration of your placement, all with the support of a senior mentor.
About the scheme
We are looking to take on five graduates for the following positions:

Port Management
You'll join one of two port management streams, based primarily in Southampton or the Humber. Working closely with Port Managers and other senior leaders, you will be able to gain experience in a wide range of departments including Operations, Commercial, Port Management, Compliance, Strategy and Project Management.

Property Management
You will be supporting the management function by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational targets and maximise rental returns whilst managing property risks. We will train you to understand all elements of ABP's property portfolio and associated activities in accordance with legislative requirements. You'll have the opportunity to spend time working at multiple ABP locations across the UK.

Human Resources
You'll be given real responsibility early on, working closely with our business leaders on projects across the full range of functions; talent and recruitment, employee relations, reward, learning and development, HR Services & payroll and HR Business Partnering. You’ll be based in either Hull or head office in London.

Finance
You will join the Financial Planning & Analysis team where you will be involved in running the financial forecasts, be part of the business plan process, learn about ABP’s capital programme, use financial systems and provide insightful information through reporting. You will also be involved in our strategy process and be exposed to financial controlling activities such as preparation of management information, statutory accounts and internal audits.

Our largest region, offering a wide variety of opportunities.

Including 5 ports in Wales and 11 Short Sea Ports across the UK.

We also have a head office in London.

About you

About ABP
The port industry in the UK is the second largest in Europe and Associated British Ports (ABP) is the largest port operator in the country, with 21 ports around Britain. ABP's ports include Immingham, the UK's largest port by tonnage, and Southampton, the nation's second largest container port, as well as the UK's number one for cars and cruise ships. Every year, ABP handles around 25% of all UK seaborne trade – more than 85 million tonnes of cargo. Collectively the ports handle around 1.4 million containers, 1.7 million vehicles and around 3 million cruise and ferry passengers each year. We also own and run Britain's busiest inland rail terminal, Hams Hall.
